August 31st, 2009 – I-JOBS Grant Awarded to Marion Parks Maintenance Facility
Martin Design recently assisted the City of Marion and Marion Parks and Recreation department with writing an I-JOBS grant application for the Marion Parks Maintenance Facility. The project ranked 10th overall competing with 137 other projects from around the state. Aside from replacing the existing maintenance sheds and offices, the building will also provide room for growth in the Marion Parks system as well as one of the area's only public FEMA-rated storm shelters, which will double as a party rental facility. The building is projected to achieve LEED Silver certification with construction scheduled to begin in Spring of 2010. I-JOBS is a state funding program created to promote job creation, green projects and infrastructure improvements throughout the State of Iowa.
