Our Staff
Marion Staff
David F. Martin, AIA - Principal Architect
- Dave provides overall supervision of all projects in the southern and northern offices. He divides his time between locations and works with all project managers on all projects. No design presentations, major design changes, or final construction documents leave the office without his personal review.
- Dave was raised in the construction industry, the son of a plumbing, heating, and electrical contractor. He has worked in the field, helped prepare bids, and for a time managed the family business office. Dave has more than 40 years of design and construction experience and has been a licensed architect since 1981.
Sarah M. Coleman - Intern Architect and Project Manager
- Sarah will often provide primary contact on projects. On many projects she will analyze the needs of the client, provide drawings to communicate the design process, and often to design the building. Sarah has day-to-day responsibility for coordinating construction documents, consultants, and contractors on her projects.
- Sarah has been project manager on a variety of project types. These have included our recent larger projects such as the Allamakee-Clayton Electric Cooperative. Large scale projects that stretch over long periods of time require the continuity and detailed attention that Sarah works hard to bring to every project.
Kyle D. Martin , LEED AP - Intern Architect and Project Manager
- Kyle has provided leadership on several projects during his time with Martin Design and has recently led most of our new building design efforts. He is responsible for production of a great deal of our exterior design and oversees production of all three-dimensional drawings and renderings.
- Kyle began his career working construction for two summers. Kyle's skills include a great deal of public speaking experience and organizational ability. Kyle is also a Leader in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) for accreditation in sustainable design and construction practices.
- Kyle has been the primary designer for the Coralville Youth Sports Complex and Lowe Park projects.
Gabe Julich - Draftsperson
- Gabe’s primary responsibilities are to prepare design, design development, construction document, and presentation drawings. Beyond the actual drafting of drawings, he coordinates the work of our consultants, provides much of the quality control and consistency of our work.
Justin Hoff, SDA - Office Manager
- Justin assists with projects by being in charge of the financial life of the firm. He greets visitors to the office, completes contracts and specifications, and is in charge of all of our billings for services.
Strawberry Point Staff
Mike Tucker - Project Manager
- Mike has worked on a variety of project types within the firm. A few of these include libraries, schools, and government buildings. He provides the primary client contact on many projects and also provides much of the computer technical support in the northern and southern offices. Mike has been very active in community affairs in the Strawberry Point area.
Mark Moine - Project Manager
- In recent months Mark has been busy helping several school districts plan for the changes brought about by recent budget cuts. Reorganizing the use of the buildings in a school district is just one of the services we provide to help with these difficult transitions. Mark is active in the Nashua area in service clubs and government commissions.
Brian Stark - Project Manager
- As a volunteer firefighter Brian brings his hobby to work and has worked with a number of local fire, police, and ambulance services who needed new buildings. Brian likes projects that are a bit unusual, such as the FEMA safe room projects. Brian works with quite a few projects that use grants, loans, and other funding sources. He has worked hard to learn about these agencies and works with their personnel to find any available funding.
